The humans that make up the school

Meet the faculty that make up the international track for 7th through 9th grade here at Lindegårdsskolen

Indhold

In order to create a space for the international track to flourish in its own right while maintaining the connection to the rest of Lindegårdsskolen the responsibility of the new track has been placed with the existing vice principal at Lindegårdsskolen.

My name is Rasmus Langager Larsen, and I have been the vice principal here at Lindegårdsskolen since 2021. Through those years the school has seen a rapid development, but the school you see today is mostly a product of the incredible effort of the amazing staff.

I am a strong advocate for public schools having different profiles so that we can create more versatile and diverse schools for the municipality's students. Therefore, I am especially pleased that Lindegårdsskolen is the first to be a so-called Profile-school in Lyngby-Taarbæk Kommune.

The international track is indeed an excellent opportunity for Lindegårdsskolen to work with our global perspective, which we highly value. We are already a school with many ethnicities, and working to develop our communities with great diversity is a cornerstone for us. The more diversity, the more fun it is...

The international track will therefore not merely mean teaching in English, but it also poses an excellent opportunity for the school to embrace the global reality it is situated in.

We are committed to offering expatriate families a primary education that they can use to further their studies in either a Danish upper secondary education or back in their home country. Or the Danish family who knows that their opportunity for work abroad is imminent.

Additionally, there are also students who are just as comfortable with the English language as they are with Danish. We are seeing more and more of these students, and in our track, they will be able to develop their talent, and even be prepared to spend a year abroad or apply for an upper secondary education with an international track.

    The kettle is already on!

If you are in any way interested or maybe just curious about the new international track for 7th to 9th grade at Lindegårdsskolen please don’t hesitate to contact us!

We will very much like to invite you here for an informal and inconsequential conversation. By that is meant that we do not set up any obligations for simply letting us tell you about the opportunities and pitfalls of this new initiative.

    The teaching staff

The most important factor in creating a sound education for any child is the teacher. There can be problems with the other kids in class, and the school leadership can have as many good intentions as they want. No matter what, it will always be the teachers ability to teach each child, that determines the quality of that childs schooling.

Therefore we have sought to maximize the quality of our teaching staff through af combination of internal and outside hires. We have spend the last 4 years curating the best teaching staff this town has to offer, but we are of course aware that teaching internationally also poses some challenges that make it necessary to open up for new ideas and competencies.

Our suggestion to the teachers is that if they teach in English, they should always be able to translate into Danish if necessary. Conversely, teachers who teach in Danish should be able to translate into English if needed.

Additionally, we would like to see teachers have a global perspective reflected in their courses.
